Overview:
We are seeking a talented and passionate Church Organist to join our congregation.
As the Church Organist, you will play a vital role in enhancing our worship services through beautiful and inspiring music.
This is a paid position.
Duties:
- Play the organ during church services, including preludes, hymns, offertories, postludes, and other musical selections as needed - Collaborate with the choir director and other musicians to create a cohesive and uplifting musical experience - Select appropriate music that aligns with the theme and message of each service - Provide accompaniment for congregational singing and special performances - Rehearse with the choir and other musicians as necessary - Maintain and care for the church organ, ensuring it is in proper working condition Requirements:
- Proficiency in playing the organ, with a strong understanding of music theory and performance techniques - Experience playing in a church or similar setting is preferred - Ability to read sheet music and play from various musical genres, including traditional hymns and contemporary worship songs - Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with other musicians and church staff - Knowledge of liturgical traditions and an understanding of how music enhances worship services - Flexibility to accommodate different musical styles and preferences within the congregation Skills:
